Visa Experiences...!!!!

Sai Ganesh UIS spring 2009

Hi UIS Spring 2009 aspirants....

My profile: I hve 1.5 yrs expr and got admit for MIS'09....
Hve moderate scores in gre n toefl...
I had my Visa interview on 29'oct at 7:15 am (Chennai Consulate)
I reached the consulate by 6:45 and der was big Q (most of dem were B1/ dependent visa applicants and few F1 ppl)...i was checked throughly by security and please dont carry anythng other than ur Documents or else dey ll through dem in dustbin...
I was allowed inside 1st bld and der were few Counters, i was asked t go to one of d counters where the officer asked me for (Appointment letter, Passport, DD, i901 form, and i20) documents and she took my finger prints... den navigated into another bld (dis is d place where our entry to US is decided)... it was 7:30 and der were no VO turned-up yet...around at 8:15 3 VO's hve cme up...(2 men n 1 lady)...v started forming the Q as suggested (1 VO was taking care of B1 related and other one about dependent visas)

F1 aspirants formed 1Q...der were around 10 ppl infront of me...
2 ppl went 2 d counter got BLUE slips with der passports back :( :( (i heard sme of der answers...like dey hve sme 4-6 backlogs and dey were explaning VO about d backlogs but it seems VO was not convinced...)
Den 3 gals were asked to go to another counter (where VO was free), not of 3 only 1 gal got d visa....
v all other (around 5 ppl waited in d same Q)...d VO (sme 40-45 aged men) was not getting convinced wth d students answers (VO was mainly asking abt backlogs, if no backlogs den abt ur admits n rejects, Financial docs)... he gve only 1 visa out off 6-7 ppl...
den cme my turn....
fortunately new VO as opened d counter, he asked me to cme der....(i was too happy)
me: Good mng Officer, How r u??
VO: (with raising his eyebrows) fine, thank you...how r u
me: gud
VO; gve me 1 min (actually he was switching on his computer)
me: ok...
VO: folder plz...
me: passed d folder...
VO: Can i see ur 1st class graduate certificate...
me: gve my degree certificate (i was shocked how cme he knw i got 1st class in graduation)
VO: Can i c ur GRE n TOEFL scores plz...
me: Sure...here dey r...(gve my score cards)
VO: wats ur father...
me: i started telling him dat father is so and so...he stopped me in d starting itself and said "U GOT IT...U MAY GO NOW"...

i got shocked and dint not even thank'd him and left d place...
Still i dont understand how he cme to knw abt my 1st class graduation....

So guys...visa is depends on ur luck and hve faith in urself....
prepare very well because all d VO wont be soo nice...prepare all types of Q's...

waiting to c for other ppl's interview expr...

RAMA spring 2009

Hello ALL.......

I was the next person to above guy, who got visa.......His name is Sai Ganesh....

I was little tensed as Ganesh n me got admit from same college(UIS) and same course (MIS).

There was a person in between me n sai. That in between person went to fifth counter which is opened first n i was sent to behind ganesh.

My interview was same as ganesh except some questions,

VO: How ru sir?

Me: I am fine, thank you sir, how ru doing?

VO: Good.

VO: Do u know the person before u?

Me: No sir.(wit confidence)

Then asked me to wait for 5 mins and went inside wit my provisional.

i was waiting wit lot of tension, n thinking wt he ill ask.

After 5 miinssssssss...............

Called me back while other persons interview was going on and he too got VISA. after him my turn came.

VO: can i see ur engg degree certificates ?

Me: Yes sir........... I gave him my certificates.

VO: Wats ur over all percentage?

Me: i told my percentage........

i was tensed n looking wt he is going to do ..............

VO: Thank you sir.........(Keeping my passport and DS forms inside the folder)

Me: Thank you sir, have a good day.....(wit Smile n trying to believe that i got visa)

VO: Oh thankssssssssss..........

In this way my interview was finished.

I warn the guys to be well prepare before going to VISA interview n go through all the financial documents, College site n course......... Be confident wt ever u say n dont panic and stick to ur previous answers wt u said. Be coooooooolllllllllll k na.........

Its our luck that how many questions will be asked n depends on the VO also. So be prepared for every question and some surprise questions.

had my visa date on 10th nov 7:30am at chennai consulate......here's hw it went

vo:nice....(i dint understand wat he told, i guess it was nice to c u....he was not audible)
me:sorry, i din't get u...
vo:okay...how ru doing?
me:g8, how abt u?
vo:fantastic...could u pass over d folder
(I passed it on to him....he was entering sumthn on 2 his system, saw my provisional, gre ,toefl,120 n gave dem bak immediately.... keeping DS frms n passport wid him )
vo:why UIS?
me:The course curriculum of MIS dept at UIS is very comprehensive,its offering courses lyk Data Base Mangament which i look forward to specialize in as it is related to the technology which i am currenlty working on in Infosys..n once done wid masters i would lyk to join infosys as a buisiness analyst
vo:gave a smile n said g8...n den asked me wat ur parents are
me:i was about to answer..den came d golden words ur passposrt would b couriered to u in 3days...n said ve a g8 day..
me:Thank u... ve a nyc day!!!!!!!!!
